I recently did makeup for a friend of mine who has a dark skin tone. During the process, we got around to talking about some new lipsticks. I told her that I loved the swatches of those lipsticks the brand posted on their channel. As soon I said it, she literally threw me a disgusting expression and rolled her eyes. I asked her what it is and then, she started with the saga of how tough it is to find makeup swatches for her skin tone online and how easy it is for me. To which, I do agree! She laid particular emphasis on how herculean it’s a task to find office wear lipsticks for dark skin in India.
This made me think hard because I felt bad and said you’ll soon find a post for it on my blog. And, here I’m with one today!
Needless to say, doing this post was challenging for me. More so because the model girl I chose had no patience! I can’t really blame her because this whole thing (experimenting and clicking) took around 3 hours. So, a big thank you to her!
Now, quickly starting with the swatches for 10 office wear lipsticks for medium dark skin in India:

A rosy brown with mauve undertones which is smooth, moisturizing and stays for around 3 hours. It also has SPF15.
Coloressence Intense Long Wear Lipstick ‘Muse’
A dusty pink with a soft matte finish, glides smoothly and easily stays for over 4 hours. Two swipes give a near to opaque coverage.
Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick ‘Pure Innocence’
A brown with pink undertones which look neutral on medium dark skin.
Coloressence Liplicious Gloss ‘Rustique’
Loved this one on her skin as it brightened up her face!
Lakme 9 To 5 Lipstick ‘Red Chaos’
Another neutral shade where the pink undertones act as a saving grace.
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick ‘Hazelnut’
A brown which might be a perfect MLBB for you too! This one has a super creamy texture.
Lakme 9 to 5 ‘Rose Touch’ Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color
The heavy purple undertones look so subtle here, making itself as a perfect office wear lipsticks for dark skin in India.
Avon Ultra Color Bold Lipstick ‘Coffee Crush’
A chocolate brown with red undertones.
I really didn’t expect this lipstick to work on this skin tone. But look at it! A MLBB shade for dark skin with a tinge of pink if I must say o_o

Yes, the Indian market is mostly made for bright and fair skin.
All the advertisements more or less focus on a particular type and color of skin more than the others..
These swatches are beautiful and my favourite out of the lot are ‘Rustique’ by Coloressence and ‘Coffee crush’s by Avon, I think they look absolutely gorgeous.
