Bridal Makeup Kit For Normal Skin Type With No Marks/Scars

in Others, Tips and Tricks on 27/12/15

Preparing a bridal makeup kit for normal skin type or any other is no easy feat. I have helped 11 ladies till date with this. It feels incredible that they trusted me with my choices and went on with it. I’m happy that they are loving those products and don’t feel let down. Some did had application problems but with practice, they feel much better now. When I recently helped a very close friend of mine for the same, I thought I would share the products lists with you all.

BRIDAL MAKEUP KIT FOR NORMAL SKIN INDIA
For reference, she has a normal skin type which is why even makeup products with average staying power, stay for long on her. She has a medium skin tone. She has no marks or scars to cover up but dark circles. If she had an oily skin type, the list would have been longer.

Let’s get started! Here’s the list of all products that you can add to your bridal makeup kit:
FACE
Cost
Primer
L’oreal Paris Base Magique (Review HERE)
Rs.899
Foundation and Powder
L’oreal  Paris The True match (Review HERE)
Rs.955
L’oreal Matt magique (Review HERE)
Rs.399
Blush
L’Oreal magique blush sunset glow
Rs.800
Inglot Freedom system blush (51) (Review HERE)
Rs.450
MAC powder blush (Pinch me)
Rs.1500 something
Highlighter
Using a shade from eyeshadow kit
–
Blotting papers
Sephora  (Review HERE)
Rs.550
Total

– L’oreal matt magique compact has a very fine texture and easily doubles up as a loose powder too.
– L’oreal magique ‘sunset glow’ is a blush that works with almost every lip shade.
– MAC powder blush ‘pinch me’ is a red-based blush that teams up beautifully with red, brown and berry lipsticks.

EYES
Cost
Eyeshadows
Makeup revolution big love palette (will post a review soon)
Rs. 1350
Eyeliners
Maybelline hyper glossy liquid eyeliner (Gold, Black, Silver)
Review HERE, HERE
Rs.825
L’oreal gel eyeliner (Brown) Review HERE
Rs.875
Colorbar I-glide eye pencil (Purple) Review HERE
Rs.499

Maybelline colossal waterproof (Review HERE)
Rs.350
Corrector
Kryolan brush on concealer in orange (Review HERE)
Rs.450
Total
Rs.4350
– Makeup revolution big love palette has shades in families of Gold, Brown, Purple, Plum and Grey. Two eyeshadows from this palette serve her for highlighting her cheekbones.
– As I mentioned before, she has major dark circles. The Kryolan supracolor in orange shade works perfectly for her. She uses a damp MAC sponge to pat it nicely. She follows up with foundation as a concealer. She didn’t wanted a concealer added to her vanity just for this.

LIPS
Cost
Colorbar matte touch lipstick ‘Fairy tale'(Review HERE)
Rs.475
Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels “996, Berry Brilliant” (Review HERE)
Rs.405
L’oreal color riche lipstick “Deep raspberry”

Lakme absolute matte lipstick ‘Tangerine rush’
Rs.800
Maybelline colorsensational lipstick POW2
Rs.350
L’Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Reds Lipstick – Pure Scarleto
Rs.995
Total
Rs.4270
Do you also know that you can use your lipsticks as blush too? This is one amazing trick to use when you’re pressed for time and still want to look gorgeously flushed.
BRUSHES/SPONGES
Cost
Real techniques Blush brush
Rs.749
Real techniques powder brush
Rs.785
Ecotools eye brush set
Rs.400
MAC makeup sponge (2) (Check it HERE)
Rs.1200
Total
Rs.3134
The total cost of this kit comes to Rs.17,300 but I clearly remember having spent something around Rs. 14,500 in total. That’s because we planned in advance and took advantage of the online sales and offers. Not to forget, I ensured that the shopping was done via CashKaro to save big!

Just a few pointers if you would be shopping for your bridal makeup kit:

– Don’t go on buying every single tool and product type just because it’s in. The more products you have, the more time you will need to spend on your makeup routine. Make sure you are that type. I am but are you?
– Start with the basic makeup brushes if you aren’t big on makeup. The ones listed here are sufficient. These ones are my most used brushes along with buffing brush from Real techniques.
–  My friend would need eyeshadows only for parties and functions. The golden-copper shades in the palette are versatile enough to go along with almost all ethnic outfits. The others are like cherry on top. Figure out your needs too. For small events, she has her basic and colored eyeliners to her rescue.

I hadn’t planned on including the pointers. So I just wrote things which came to my mind for now 😛

I will also write a bridal kit post for super oily skin with marks and scars.
Let me know if you’ve any doubts 🙂
