Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator review India

What happens when you give someone more chances than they deserve?

With regard to a skincare product, I’ll let you know in a while.

worst moisturizer oily acne prone skin

Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator review

Product description:

New auto-replenishing technology with activated aloe water actually helps skin create its own internal water source to continually rehydrate itself. It then locks in all that moisture for an endlessly plump, dewy, healthy-looking glow. Bursting with hyaluronic acid, nature’s perfect moisture magnet, testing proves that it works non-stop for up to 72 hoursโ€”even after washing your face.

My experience with Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator:

Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator review India

I lovedย Clinique moisture surge. In fact, two of my friends bought it on my recommendation and they too loved it because of its light-weight yet hydrating formula. All of us have an acne prone skin and it never caused breakouts.

After some months, the brand dropped a bomb by discontinuing it and instead coming up with a new version of it. The lady at the Clinique counter said that the new formula i.e. Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator is even lighter making itself ideal for acne prone skin.

Okay!

I bought it and started using it. The first time I used it, I realized how slippery it felt. It was like using a silicone-based primer. That’s not all. I would feel this gel sitting on just top of my skin weirdly and not actually getting absorbed.

After two days of using it, I saw tiny bumps on my skin. I stopped using it and decided to test it out once more sometime again to be sure this is the only culprit.

After a week, I used it before applying makeup and it piled like crazy. I had to re-do my base makeup.

Then, I decided to give it a last try just two days back. Do you want to see the results?

Here you go:

I haven’t had this kind of breakout in the past one year. I’m so pissed off! Most pimples leave a scar on my face.

I was so angry that I just wanted to throw it in the bin. Fortunately, sense prevailed in me quickly. I have kept it in fridge (Like Lakme naturale aloe aqua gel) and use it after my epilating session.

Just when you thought Clinique knew better, they decided to put ‘Dimethicone’ right on top of the ingredients list in a skincare product!

Price: Rs.2,550

Quantity: 50ml

VCB rating: 1/5

Have you tried the new Clinique 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator? Are you liking it?

Thank you for this review. I’m glad I came across this. I’ve got acne prone skin too. I am currently using the pervious version of the clinique moisture surge. It is so good. However, it’s almost over. I was going to buy the new one. But now I’m having second thoughts. I broke out like this when I used the kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate. I had heard everyone raving about how good it is. So I decided to give it a try. But it broke me out so bad.

      Same here Pallavi!
I emptied 4 bottles of the old moisture surge formula. Like you said, it was sooooooo goooood!! ๐Ÿ™
I got a sample of the same Kiehl’s concentrate and it didn’t suit me too. It felt too heavy.
Hope your skin is a lot better now.

I have a friend who warned me against using this product. Now that I see your experience, I wonder what a brand like Clinique is really doing. It supposed to be dermatologist recommended!!!!

“Dermatologist recommended” is just a fancy term for marketing. It’s no guarantee that the product will suit acne prone skin perfectly or not block pores ๐Ÿ™
Wow! Wish someone told me too but I’m sure I wouldn’t have listened ๐Ÿ˜› *Story of my life- Try everything :P*
Glad you stayed away from it. FOUR of my friends bought it and it caused breakouts on their skin too.

I actually LOVED the old moisture surge formula. I emptied FOUR bottles of it. This one is a total fail though.
I don’t want to sound haughty but I think the same @_@ Ahaha! ๐Ÿ˜›
And that’s how I plan to keep things on my blog in future too. Bought with my own money or not, the reviews are always gonna be honest ๐Ÿ™‚
      Thanks Himika!
