Another year, another favourites list!
I saw myself experimenting with different types of skincare products in 2017. Never did I think I would benefit from a facial oil, let alone use one. With some, the risk wasn’t worth it. With others, it was. Like the ones in the list below:
So expensive, so amazing, so loveable, it makes me want to cut down on my McDonalds meals to save money for it.
If you want a layer of hydration without the thickness of texture, this is a perfect choice. It sinks into skin instantly and doesn’t leave any greasy feeling behind. It works well beneath my base products too.
During weather transition, this alone works for my dehydrated skin. In winters, I do need to add another layer or two.
Price: Rs.1,250 for 30ml
Soulflower coldpressed jojoba oil
This has definitely changed my perspective towards facial oils.
I started using it previous winters and it’s safe to say now that it has changed the texture of my skin for better. I love using a drop or two of it with a moisturizer when the weather starts to get chilly to provide my skin adequate moisture (Read: Moisture and not hydration).
The combo of it along with Lotus alphamoist moisturizer is ALWAYS a must for me before going for a heavy coverage face/layers of makeup.
I don’t use it in summers though, except for when I’m going for heavy makeup. A light moisturizer is enough for my super oily skin during that weather.
Price: Rs.450 for 30ml
Most days, I use it instead of a face wash. It removes dirt without leaving my skin dry.
As for makeup, it removes heavy one too. I don’t rely on it for waterproof mascara though as it takes a lot of time. Maybelline eye and lip makeup remover works brilliantly well and quickly to take off waterproof eye makeup.
Price: Rs.1,200 for 150ml
The best cleanser cum exfoliator for me.
Price: Rs.525 for 40g
Innisfree green tea sleeping pack
4 times a week of it works well to save my dehydrated skin from dry patches. Also, it makes skin very soft. Since the past 1 month, I’ve been using it every time before applying a primer. Works like a charm! I will review it in detail soon.
Price: Around Rs.1,000
Another skincare product I really can’t do without. This must be my 5-6th bottle.
Light-weight, blends well without making my skin shiny. Also, suits my acne prone skin. What’s not to love?
Price: Rs.250 for 80ml
The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid 2%+B5
I like to apply this in the PM on damp skin in patting motion, followed by a moisturizer. It has a thick texture but doesn’t leave any sticky residue. Initially, there was some piling issue with it. But I learnt my lesson by letting it dry completely before adding another product on top of it.
Does it work?
Yes, it worked for my combination, dehydrated skin in winter by offering adequate hydration. The product alone isn’t enough to soothe my skin but when combined with other steps in my skincare routine, does really show a remarkable difference after 2 weeks.
Cindamycin Phosphate and Nicotinamide gel
This gel will dry out the areas you’re applying it to, but it’s worth it to see the size of pimple reduced in morning. I only use it at night and put it directly on pimples.
It was recommended to me by my derma and unlike the other acne products I’ve tried previously, this one isn’t very harsh.
Price: Don’t remember.
When I’m feeling too lazy to mix multaani mitti with water, I go for this one. This mask pulls all the oils and gunk out of my pores. And surprisingly, doesn’t leave my skin feeling super stretchy.
Have you tried any of these products? What’s your most loved skincare product?
