Sugar Eye Told You So Smudgeproof Eyeliner Black Swan: Review, Swatches

in Eyeliner, Eyes on 08/04/17

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know my love for Maybelline hyper glossy liquid eyeliner. For the price it comes at, it does its job really well. Recently, I decided to try out Sugar Eye Told You So Smudgeproof Eyeliner – Black Swan after reading good reviews about it and how it’s actually smudgeproof. Did it fare well on my super oily eyelids too? Keep reading.

smudgeproof eyeliner in India

Product description

Miss highlighting your eyes when youโ€™re running short on time? This new eyeliner from SUGAR makes application a breeze and defines your eyes like no other! Specially-designed in an easy-to-apply pen format, the Eye Told You So! gives you a gorgeous silky-matte finish that just does not smudge, budge or peel off. It stays on your lids for 24 hours straight without smearing and is absolute must-have for anyone looking to create some extra magic with their eyes!

My experience with Sugar Eye Told You So Smudgeproof Eyeliner – Black Swan:

Packaging: Sugar Eye Told You So Smudgeproof Eyeliner has an extremely fine sponge tip applicator. It has enough flexibility to get moulded without losing its shape. One can easily draw thin as well as thick lines by varying the pressure. The wand is long but nothing annoying. Also, it has a good grip.

Formula: ย The consistency is thin but not very watery. Over the past 2 weeks, I didn’t see the formula separating. It’s easy to work with and therefore results in a good coverage. It takes 15-20 seconds to dry.

Pigmentation: It’s an inky black which dries to a matte finish. One layer of it delivers a good intensity. If you want to add another one, make sure to let it dry completely. Otherwise, going over while the eyeliner is still drying will pick up the layer and move it which will result in a streaky finish.

Staying power: Sadly, the Sugar Eye Told You So Smudgeproof Eyeliner doesn’t live up to its smudgeproof claim. Forget of staying for 24 hours without smearing, the formula starts breaking mildly from the outer corners of my eyes after 6 hours only. It’s performance is just the same as that of Maybelline hyper glossy and L’oreal magique eyeliner. The oil on my skin ate the eyeliner and it did nothing to stop that ๐Ÿ™ Even if you slightly rub off your eyes, this will flake.

I’m going to resort to my affordable liquid eyeliners which perform the same and the eyeliner hack I use for my super oily eyelids.

Great that it’s pigmented.. But sadly its long lasting.. Even I liked maybelline hyperglossy very much.

      You’re most welcome, Bushra! ๐Ÿ™‚
I had high expectations too from it given the claims. Sadly, the performance didn’t turn out that well.

The classic winged eyeliner is rightly called a classic. It brings out the feminine sensuality so well besides lending it a mischievous touch ๐Ÿ™‚ You aced yours, Heena.
