The Eyeliner Hack I Use For My Super Oily Eyelids

in Others, Tips and Tricks on 11/07/16

I know some girls (my dear friends! ahem!) who get away with applying a regular quality eyeliner and not experiencing any smudging problem. Then, there are women like me who have experimented with so many eyeliners, tried waterproof versions; only to find eyeliner smudging just after a few hours. Either they transfer on upper eye lids or start fading badly from outer corners.

I tried the eyeshadow trick but to no avail. The eyeshadow trick involves tracing your eyeliner with a good quality eyeshadow to help it stay put. Even that didn’t work me.

One day, I did something and now, I have been doing the same on my super oily eyelids since a year with much better results. Here’s what I do to lend a good staying power to my eyeliner:

First, I pat pressed powder on my eyelids. Second, I apply a gel-based or pencil eyeliner with long-stay properties. Then, I follow up with a liquid eyeliner to seal it better and to make the application look neat. This is what I have been doing over a year and it works like a charm.

Even when the temperature if 50 degrees outside, I can see only a tiny bit of smudging after 12 hours. That is a great achievement for someone whose eyelids bear the resemblance of vaseline!

Hope the eyeliner hack I use for my super oily eyelids helps you too ^_^
