Best Drugstore Foundations For Oily-Combination Skin

in Face, Foundation on 21/11/16

best-indian-drugstore-foundations-for-oily-combination-skin

Are you on the hunt for the best drugstore foundations for oily-combination skin in India? If yes, keep reading to put a full stop to your search.

If there’s one product category in makeup about which I get most inquisitive about, it’s foundation! I have tried a total of 18 foundations in my life. There’s something about welcoming a new foundation in my life. It gets my heart racing. My mind becomes a whirlwind of thoughts as soon as I purchase a new one. I wonder if it will suit my acne skin, control oiliness, not oxidize, go on beautifully, blur my pores, not transfer and most importantly, be the right shade when I try it at home. Phew!

When it comes to choosing a drugstore foundation here, it’s quite a tough task. First, there are no samples to test the products. Second, the shade range is limited. Third, the SAs always sugar coat things.

I have tried 5 L’oreal foundations till date and have liked all, with the exception of one. Needless to say, I rush to their counter as soon as I hear about a new base launch from them. I even like Revlon colorstay foundation a lot in terms of coverage, finish and oil control. Sadly, it doesn’t suit my acne-prone skin.

*These foundations are tried and tested by me. The links provided will re-direct you to their review. I have a super duper oily skin which is also dry in the same place. Eeks!*

L’oreal infallible 24 hour foundation

L’oreal infalliable 24 hour foundation  is the best liquid foundation for oily skin in India. It is a long-wearing foundation with a beautiful formula. It has a creamy texture and blends in completely. The best part is that it actually controls oil formation and stays on for really long. Even in this scorching heat, it has never transferred. I love the healthy matte finish and the coverage it offers, more than “medium”. With over 10 shades in this range, you might just get lucky! It’s the foundation I reach out for in summer/winter when I’m opting for heavy makeup. Since it has a good staying power, it helps increase the longevity of other products on my face too.

Loreal Paris True Match Foundation

I called L’oreal Paris True Match foundation as a luxurious base in less than 1000 bucks. I am glad that I don’t have to take my words back. Even though it has SPF, it has never made me look like a white ghost in pictures. It offers a medium coverage and a luminous matte finish. If you have a dry skin, you can afford to skip powder with it. However, oily skinned beauties will need to set it with powder to make it last long. I have a combination skin type and never found it emphasizing the dry patches on my face. For a liquid foundation that offers a medium coverage and good staying power, it’s surprisingly light-weight. Without a doubt, this is one of the best foundations for oily-combination skin in India.

Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation

I purchased it when it received a lot of love from bloggers. Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation is the best Lakme foundation for oily skin. It is extremely light-weight and an ideal option for you if you are looking for an everyday wear base. Just so you know, I can’t use it for 5 days in a row as it doesn’t suit me that well. I have to use it in breaks. That said, it provides a light-medium coverage. It gives a matte finish and does not transfer at all. Also, it does not oxidize. This is the foundation I reach out for more in summers during day time as compared to the other two options. I find that it works best with fingers.

So, these were my picks for best drugstore foundations for oily-combination skin in India. Now, tell me about your favourite Indian drugstore foundation 😀

      Hey Sameera,
when my skin was more on the drier, dehydrated side in winters, I was using the L’oreal true match foundation. Since it doesn’t emphasize dry patches, it works well under properly moisturized skin. Taking sufficient time to prep you skin is the key to using even matte based foundation on dry skin 🙂

You can even try Ponds BB cream without setting it with powder for your dry skin. It gives the coverage of a foundation. Here’s the link to read its review: http://www.vanitycasebox.com/2013/06/ponds-white-beauty-bb-cream-review-the-whitening-saga-continues.html

I tried Revlon colorstay for oily/combination skin. Sadly, it caused my skin to breakout. I tried Maybelline BB cushion at the store and it made my oily skin oilier. So, it might be a good choice for you.

      Hope this helps 🙂
