Lakme 9 To 5 Naturale Gel Kajal: Review, Swatches

Lakme 9 to 5 naturale gel kajal review, swatches

Hola guys!

Lakme seems to be releasing a new product from their naturale range every week or so. I got two products more than a week back which gave me enough time to test them. For now, I’ll be reviewing Lakme 9 to 5 naturale gel kajal!

Product description:

A first of its kind pot kajal (Whatt??) with an applicator is infused with naturale goodness of aloe vera and calendula oil giving a super intense black for defined eyes perfect for your everyday bright look. Waterproof, Ophthalmologically tested. Be city ready, city bright, naturalely! For best results, please wash the applicator after each use. Look city bright 9 to 5 and beyond: Formal Days: For a formal day look, apply the gel kaval on your lower lash line using the applicator. Leave the upper lash line bare. Fun Evenings: Meeting friends in the evening? Take the applicator and create a stroke on your upper lash line. Fabulous Nights: For glamorous nights out, create a small extended flick from the upper lid to your lower lid for a dramatic night-out look

My experience with Lakme 9 to 5 naturale gel kajal:

The packaging is gorgeous. The gel kajal comes in a pot with a twist-off cap in rose gold colour. The shade name is mentioned at the back. It also comes with a tiny brush which does the job of applying the kajal well. I have washed it 5-6 times and didn’t face any problem with the bristles. It doesn’t feel scratchy on the eyelids either.

Although the texture of the kajal is soft, you will find yourself dipping your brush in the pot again and again because enough product doesn’t stick to the brush. As for the pigmentation, it’s a rich black provided you apply two coats. But if you apply it over eyeshadows, you will find medium-strong black colour. It’s also a bit difficult to apply over eyeshadows as the first layer gets picked up in the process of applying the second one. This is mainly because it doesn’t dry down completely.

When worn alone over powdered eyelids, Lakme 9 to 5 nature gel kajal lasts on me for 8 hours. The intensity still looks the same but it has considerably smudged from the outer corners. I take a Q-tip to remove the excess and then, powder over to re-touch it. If you like to apply gel eyeliners close to your inner eye corners, be prepared to see a lot of smudging. Also, if you happen to rub your eyes, some product will land on your fingers. Thankfully, it never transferred to my crease in spite of me having super oily eyelids.

I tested it on my waterline too. It smudged really bad! After 2-3 hours, it was gone and all I was left with was its memories..how it made me look like a panda!

Better options are:

– Lakme eyeconic kajal

Maybelline gel eyeliner

Music flower long wear gel eyeliner

Maybelline lasting drama waterproof gel pencil

If you have already bought it and don’t want to waste it, I suggest you to try the eyeliners hack I use for my super oily eyelids with it.

Summary:

If you are after a rich black colour that applies easily, sets quickly and lasts for long even on super oily eyelids, skip Lakme 9 to 5 naturale gel kajal. Thankfully, there are better options and that too at lower prices.
