Four Face Wash Review – Biotique, Nivea, Ponds

in Face wash, Makeup, Skincare on 11/08/13

I have a super oily, acne prone and very sensitive skin with open pores problem.
Here’s my opinion on some of the face washes I tried these summers:

Biotique Bio Pineapple Fresh Foaming Cleansing Gel Review:I have emptied around 3 bottles of this face wash easily. On days, when I use just a powder compact over my face, this face wash washes every trace of that compact. I can say this because I have swiped cotton dipped in toner after washing my face with this and no trace of makeup I could spot on that cotton ball. It doesn’t make my oily skin stretchy but at the same time, removes oil and dirt effectively but it won’t work for dry skinned people. And, also, it removes tan quite effectively. I’m not saying it removes tan completely but the difference it makes in lightening skin due to tan deposited, is clearly visible. Although the screw cap is annoying, the performance outshines it. Also, it lasts long.

Price: Rs.149 for 120ml
VCB Rating: 4.5/5

Nivea Refreshing Face Wash Review:This face wash is clearly meant for non-problematic skin. It is soap free and thick gel based face wash which is very mild on the skin. For my oily skin, I don’t like using it since I can’t get a squeaky clean feel after using this. Although when my skin got a little dry in between, I loved using this because of its mild effect. I also like using it when I’m on strong medications due to my acne and my skin gets dry. It doesn’t make any claim regarding acne control or oil control, so no deduction for that. In short, it’s a mild face wash and a little difficult to wash off. This is another reason I don’t like using it quite often.
Price: Rs.99
VCB Rating: 4/5

Ponds White Beauty Face Wash Review: It foams easily and will last for long. But it leaves my oily skin feeling very stretchy. I don’t find any brighter skin or spotless face. Blah claims! Also, it gave me little bumps on face. I’m not using it again.
Price: Rs.75 for 100gm
VCB Rating: 2.5/5

Ponds Smooth Pores Facial Foam Review: This one also did not suit my skin type. It gave me pimples.
Price: Rs.75 for 100 gm
VCB Rating: 3/5
So, How Many Face Washes You Tried These Summers? (I Know Summers Aren’t Over Yet, But I Really Want Them To End Soon!)

I have tried the pond's facewash and facial foam and I found them little drying on my skin, I am currently using Dove's face wash but I would love to try Bioteque's face wash, tempted after your review 🙂

I have been struggling to find a good face wash. I have tried a handful but none of them seem to be working. I have a very very dry skin. My search continues.

Do try L'oreal 360 go clean anti breakout cleanser. It has become boon for my skin which by the way is as problematic as yours.
