New Launch: Maybelline The Colossal Kohl “Smoked” Silver Review and Swatches

in Eyeliner, Eyes on 13/03/15

When I visited Maybelline counter a week back to buy the newly launched “the colossal liner”, I was surprised to see another new launch! Maybelline kohls have been launched in another 3 shades. I saw no publicity for them from Maybelline. I guess they are going Aamir Khan way for publicity i.e. the name is enough! And, I think it is!

I brought home this shade and here are my thoughts on it:
–            Maybelline the colossal kohl comes packed in a retractable, bright yellow packaging. The shade name is mentioned on the product itself.
–            “Smoked silver” is a pretty dark silver shade with blue undertones. The silver doesn’t looks stark on my warm skin tone.
–            The texture is moderately smooth.
–            This time too, the pigmentation is average. And, since this is quite a subtle shade, I require around 3-4 swipes for it to build full opacity. I read the reviews for “Turquoise” shade (previously launched) on plethora of blogs and all had a problem with pigmentation part. It’s the same case this time.
–            The staying power is good. I have worn this for more than 8 hours. It never got transferred to my crease area. It smudged only a bit from the inner corners and the intensity had faded only a bit.
–            It does not stain my eyelids.

Maybelline The Colossal Kohl “Smoked Silver” is a pretty shade but requires 3-4 swipes to fully show up. What makes me use it continuously is its impressive staying power on my oily eyelids!
