And, I finally got to lay my hands on this and as well as on the other new beauty launches! I sneaked out from the party I had gone in since it was adjacent to a mall. If I had waited for the party to get over, the mall must have closed and I would have been going home wailing! And, I can’t believe there are 16 shades launched in these lip polishes! Love it! So, how did Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 14 fare for me?
Packaging:So Cute! Small, compact and you see the lipstick shape inside the glass? It’s so adorable. The tip of the lipstick shape is also clean and crisp. I do like that 😛 This is sleek and you could fit it right into your pocket! I wish they had given names to these lip polishes. However, I’m not a fan of the rose petal applicator.. It kind of distributes the gloss unevenly. I have to press my lips for an even application.
Shade and Pigmentation: I picked up a beautiful nude brown shade with silver shimmer flecks. It will suit Indian skin tones nicely and you can even wear it on lipsticks. In these closeup swatches, the shimmer may look a lot but in person, they look just lovely, evenly distributed which impart lips a shine. It’s glossy in finish and the pigmentation is lovely. Two swipes on lips and I’m done.
Texture:I wouldn’t say the texture is very light weight but it’s not even very sticky. My lips feel comfortable with it. I mostly wear lipglosses only, so a little stickiness is never an issue with me. Some stickiness or gooieness in lipglosses has always been a part of lipglosses’s product formulation. Plus, I feel a little stickiness in lipglosses is important for a good staying power.
Staying Power: This lip polish scores again! I started to have drinks and snacks after one hour of having it. With light meals, it was gone only a little. Only when I started to eat and lick chips like a glutton, it wore down from the centre of the lips. On its own, it stays for more than 3-4 hours!
Pros:
– The cute packaging with the lipstick casing inside the glass tube.
– A lovely everyday shade.
– The texture is creamy and a little sticky but not uncomfortable to wear on lips.
– The shade is nicely pigemented..Two swipes and flaunt your pout! Although, it wouldn’t cover pigmented lips fully.
– The staying power is again a turner! Stays for around 3-4 hours.
Cons:
– The shimmer flecks may be a problem for some.
– Some may not like the little sticky texture at all.
– Streaky application on first.
– The price tag isn’t exactly a con but I just feel that it could have been a little lower to match with the budget friendly image of Maybelline..You know.. A tad lower! You know.. Yeh dil maange more!
Final Words:
– These lip polishes come in 16 shades, with shades suiting every taste! Go and grab one right now! Because not only would you adore the cute little packaging but even the quality of these lip polishes will make you go gaga over these! And, btw; Names would have been just the icing on the cake.
