Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation: Review, Shades

Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation: Review, Shades, Buy Online

I wasn’t planning on buying this foundation but it was a windy day and I found myself thrown in a makeup store instead of a gym. The shiny bottle kept staring me and finally, I decided to give in and bring it home. Meet the newest beauty launch of Lakme- Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation!

Product description:

Lakme Absolute brings you the miracle beauty ingredient Moroccan Argan Oil, now in a luxurious foundation called the Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation Lakme introduces a revolutionary serum foundation that nourishes skin while giving it a dewy radiant look. Contains SPF 45 which is suitable for everyday wear.

My experience with Lakme absolute argain oil serum foundation:

Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation SPF45 is encased in a back cardboard packaging which carries details like product description, price, expiry date, etc. It’s high time they started mentioning the ingredients list too. The actual bottle comes with a dropper to dispense the product. I love the packaging!

I have the shade ’01, Ivory cream’ which looks a tad light initially but adapts well to my skin tone.

Does it have a serum like texture?

While it does have a serum like consistency i.e. quite runny, I wouldn’t call its texture similar to that. You know how a serum works effortlessly on your skin by spreading easily? With this one, I have to work a little more than usual. It feels a bit sticky initially but after some time, that is gone. Also note that it dries quickly. So, you need to be fast.

Once it’s blended well and dried, it feels comfortable. Also, it does tend to emphasize small lines very minimally by the end of the day.

How many pumps do I need?

For everyday use, one pump is sufficient to even out my skin tone and get a natural finish. On days I need more coverage, two pumps are enough.

How is the coverage?

True to its claims, it does offer a medium coverage. It covers redness quite well and give more than a presentable coverage for my deep acne scars.

What about the finish?

If you were expecting your skin to glow like a bulb with Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation, you will be disappointed. The finish is somewhat semi-matte which means even people with super oily skin like me can give it a go.

So, unless you’re using a skincare product that leaves a dewy effect and following up with this foundation, know that you’re in for a semi-matte finish.

How well does it last?

I won’t call it a bullet proof foundation as it did transfer slightly on my tissue once but it wears well in pleasant weather.

For my first 2 trials with it, I wore it without powder. I didn’t feel the need of using an oil blotting tissue before 2 hours which is commendable given my slick face. I did touch-up after that in order to avoid looking like a glazed donut.

Then, I wore it set with powder using a damp beauty blender. It didn’t make my face look like a disco ball even after 7-8 hours had gone by. Of course, I did touch-up my face once but I was surprised by how well it held on my super oily face.

Oops! Almost forgot to mention that it doesn’t oxidize.

Does it contain any scent?

It has a refreshing citrusy scent which I love but my skin doesn’t. I saw small bumps forming on my forehead and on my chin area after wearing it continuously for 6 days. It’s the same with Lakme absolute white intense skin cover foundation but I still love it. Just that I wear it in breaks.

Does it fare well on dry patches?

Unfortunately, no! It clings to dry patches horribly. Not the best option for people with dry skin or those with oily skin which is prone to getting dry patches.

Does the SPF get into the way of good pictures?

It does. Although my face didn’t look like a vampire in flash photography with it on, I could notice the unflattering white cast.

Best to avoid it for functions unless you want to reveal your true persona to others. Wuahahahaha!

How many shades are available?

Lakme has launched 6 shades this time but sadly there’s still no shade for dark skin tone. But good progress, right?

Where is it available?

In stores as well as online. You can buy it on Amazon HERE.

Summary:

Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation is like any other semi-matte finish foundation in the market but with a much better oil control property. However, it comes at a cost, a hefty cost- Rs. 750 for 15 ml! Also, I don’t like how it clings to dry patches and emphasizes them.

I find this as one of the best foundations for oily-combination skin in India. Dry skinned people should feel free to maintain a distance from it.

Given the similar packaging of this and the Lakme absolute intense one, I now know why it used to get finish so quickly.
