New Launch – Maybelline High Shine Lip gloss “Electric Shock” review and swatch

in Lip gloss, Lips, Makeup on 30/05/13

I can’t tell how much happy I was when I heard these pretty lip glosses were launching in the market. I have always loved glosses more than lipsticks but the problem is that there aren’t good and affordable options. I detest shimmer lip glosses and when I saw the reviews of these online, I was so happy!
I just got one shade this time because of my limited pocket money but in a month or so, I will also get the other three shades which I liked equally.
“Electric shock” is a pretty bubblegum shade with slightly cool undertones and almost non-visible shimmers. It flatters my fair warm skin tone beautifully. If you have a medium skin tone, it’s going to work on you only if you have pigmented lips.
–        The lipgloss comes in a square tube packaging with a silver cap and has a slanted doe foot applicator.
–        The texture is creamy, thick, moisturizing and extremely less sticky.
–        The pigmentation is medium and won’t cover pigmented lips fully.
–        The shine is really a mirror like shine, which fades after an hour or so. Though I’m not a fan of high shine in bright shade lip glosses, so I tone it down.
–        The staying power is remarkable! Minus the shine, it stayed on me in spite of having drinks and a full meal.
–        With the quantity and quality offered, this really is an affordable option in our Indian market.

I love everything about this lip gloss minus the name less packaging. This is a really bad thing that the packaging doesn’t carry the name of the brand, except in the form of sticker at the bottom of the gloss which can come out any time.
Price: Rs.350
Quantity: 5ml
Vanitycasebox Rating: 4.5/5
