Ruby’s Organics Lipsticks- Review, Swatches

Product description:

My experience with Ruby’s Organics lipsticks:

You might remember me reviewing blushes in super cute, mini jars a while back which I bought from this very brand- Poppy Pink and Tan. I didn’t just love the packaging but the quality as well.

And I’m glad to say the same for these lipsticks. Actually two, one could be better..

Starting with packaging, the lipsticks’ packaging reminded me that of Chanel and Kiko Mikano.  They come in a black case with the shade name written at the bottom. The bullet reveals itself once you press the button on top. Having used them often, I can safely say that the mechanism is still working very fine. They are encased in a cardboard casing which carries necessary details like product description, quantity, price and expiry date.

Also, may we give them applause for being cruelty-free?!

I have three shades:

Ruby’s Organics lipstick ‘Nuddy’: This is my favourite shade of the lot and the one I have been wearing often. This is a light-medium peachy brown and makes my teeth look whiter. It has a good color coverage in a single layer. The texture is on the thinner side and smooth. There’s no tugging on lips and it wears well on me for approx 3 hours before a touch up is required.

VCB rating: 4.5/5

Ruby’s Organics lipstick ‘Bare’: A warm brown. The consistency was lightweight and creamy enough to go across my lips without pulling. This shade was lightly hydrating to me and wore well for around 3 hours.

I will both these shades to my post on the ultimate nude lipsticks post for Indian skin tones.

VCB rating: 4.75/5

Ruby’s Organics lipstick ‘Roseate’: My camera didn’t do justice at capturing this beautiful shade. It’s pinker in person and the capacity is buildable although may not be fully opaque on very pigmented lips. For me, that’s what works the best. I can build the opacity according to my comfort level.

It glides smoothly but there was a bit of product that pulled into my deeper lines. Not very noticeable though. If layered, the wear time is around 4 hours which gets further extended owing to the stain it leaves behind.

VCB rating: 4.25/5

All the lipsticks are neither nourishing nor drying.

Price: Rs 990 each

If using cruelty-free products is important to you, these lipsticks shouldn’t disappoint you. And if you’re contemplating adding a new nude lipstick to your collection, definitely check the shade ‘Bare’. Plus, don’t you think owing these lipsticks is a style statement in its own? 😀
