Sephora Charcoal nose strips review

Okay! So, who else has used tape in a desperate attempt to get rid of blackheads on nose back in their childhood? I used to do it when I think I was in 5th or maybe, 6th class. And I would feel so happy to see some tiny hairs when I used to pull it off. Ahaha!

Fast forward to some years ahead and blackhead removal strips and I developed a strong bond. It’s safe to say that I have tried them from more than ten brands. Yes! And the conclusion I have formed is that while the good ones do help you in emergencies, they aren’t a long-term or even very effective solution if you plan on keeping blackheads at bay for long. However, when used as a complimentary product in your ‘ward off blackheads’ skincare routine, they do help a lot.

But then there are also some ineffective ones which don’t even do the complimentary job well. For me, Sephora Charcoal nose strips are one of them.

These nose strips are enriched with charcoal extract, which is known for its incredible powers of absorption and cleaning. Its porous surface draws out impurities and pollutants like a magnet, making it a veritable detox star. Charcoal’s incredible powers of absorption (up to 200 times its own weight) and purifying, deep cleansing, and anti-pollutant properties make these wipes effective at removing blackheads and unclogging pores. In as little as 15 minutes, skin is left clean, clear, and more radiant.

My experience with Sephora Charcoal nose strips:

Sephora charcoal nose strips come in a single-use packaging. The strip is white in colour and you’re supposed to apply it on a wet nose so that it adheres well to it. The black side is meant to be against the nose. As with most strips, it doesn’t stick to the tip of the nose.

Before using any nose strip, this is what I do: Apply clay mask on my nose and let it dry completely. Wash it off using warm water. In the meantime, I make sure that the nose strip is just right beside me so that as soon as I’m done washing the mask, I don’t waste time and as a result, let the pores close. So, after I have washed it off, I immediately apply the strip.

When the strip has dried completely, I grab the corner of the strip and start peeling it VERY slowly so that the blackheads don’t end up tearing in half. When I’m done with this, I use a scrub to remove more if I can and also, to remove any leftover residue.

Sometimes, I also follow up with a tweezer.

However, despite doing the prep steps, these Sephora Charcoal nose strips didn’t work well. It did procured some whiteheads and blackheads but the overall result was ‘meh’!

I find the ones by ‘The Face shop’ far better and also economical.
