Product description:

This new generation of primer is a lightweight serum-like formula that increases the spreadability of subsequent complexion makeup to help avoid the unnatural and uneven accumulation of pigments especially around the eyes and on dry skin. Deciem The Ordinary high spreadability fluid prime also acts as a light, non-oily surface hydrator for a natural dewy look.

Ingredients:

Hexamethyldisiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl Methicone, PEG-12 Dimethicone/PPG-20 Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopherol.

My experience with Deciem The Ordinary high spreadability fluid primer:

Deciem The Ordinary high spreadability fluid primer comes in a white coloured box with information like quantity, ingredients list, directions, etc. mentioned on it. The actual primer is housed in a glass bottle with a dropper. The dropper is pretty much useless in my opinion or should I say, gets useless when you start nearing the finish of the quantity.

Since the texture of this serum-like primer is quite thick, what happens is it stops dispensing the product after some uses. So, I have to very carefully dispense some product on my palm and then, apply it. Moving on, as I said before, the formula is thick but does gets absorbed quickly and completely. It also leaves my fingers very slippery. I’m glad that the slipperiness on face isn’t to the point of letting my makeup slide off it.

It hardly blurs my pores but does help extend the wear time of my makeup without causing breakouts on my skin. Yes! I once wore it for five days straight and my skin was still okay.

Well, it is a pretty big deal for me. I only have to make sure to use in the right quantity for my makeup to glide well. I wouldn’t call it very hydrating especially in winters when my skin is prone to dry patches often. I do have to use another hydrating product underneath it but it does help in smoothening the texture.

Apart from the packaging issue, another issue I have with Deciem The Ordinary high spreadability fluid primer is that of piling. It simply refuses to work with my powder foundations. I once waited for 15-20 for it to dry completely and it still didn’t work. Glad I’m a liquid foundation girl otherwise I would be heart-broken. Skip it if you have major texture issue and want a super mattifying one to control oil for long and also blurs your pores.

Summary:

While Deciem The Ordinary high spreadability fluid primer doesn’t do much for reducing the pore size, it definitely helps smoothen the skin so that the foundation doesn’t cling badly to dry patches and go on evenly. Also, it truly extends the wear time of my makeup. Even the low-quality blushes tend to stay longer with this primer on my face. And oh! It suits my skin even if worn for 5 days straight.

My main issue is with the dropper packaging.
