Ruby’s Organics Tan Cream Blush: Review Swatches

Ruby’s Organics tan cream blush review swatches

Hola!

I’ve a beautiful blush to review today from an organic brand!

Product description:

“This balm-like weightless texture is meticulously created using oils and clays with healing properties, mixed with mineral color giving the skin an out-of-the-ordinary glow. These specially formulated blush balms are light weight but never the less long-lasting. Vegetarian. No Parabens. No Petroleum. No Alcohol. No Artificial Fragrances. No Chemical Preservatives. No Heavy Metals. Strictly No Animal testing.”

My experience with Ruby’s Organics tan cream blush:

It scores full marks on the packaging. Ruby’s Organics tan cream blush comes in a black square matte box. I like how the shade name is mentioned multiple times on the packaging. You can find details such as ingredients list, expiry date, shade name, price, etc. at the back of the box. Once you open, you will find the actual blush sitting in the center. It has a pot packaging with a twist-off cap and protected with a plastic stopper. The plastic stopper prevents the air from reaching the product and hence, drying it out. So, ensure you close it properly each time so that it’s creamy till the end.

I detected a light herbal scent when I opened it.

The cream blush is very smooth and glides onto the skin effortlessly. When I read the word ‘glow’ on the box, I thought it might be a bit greasy. But nothing of that sort happened. Once blended, it appears to be matte. I love how it creates a soft focus on my skin.

The intensity is buildable and can also be sheered out for just a hint of colour. I applied five layers of it once just to see if it gets cakey and it didn’t. It works well with fingers as well as a brush. I prefer using a stippling brush with cream blushes to get a lighter finish.

I have also used this under a light-coverage foundation as well as on bare skin followed with powder and loved the results both way.

Ruby’s Organics tan cream blush is a light brown shade with a slight terracotta  undertone to it. It warms up the skin nicely and gives that natural sun kissed look. Despite having a warm undertone, I’m glad it doesn’t look orange on me.

As for the staying power, it stays on my oily skin if I’m in an air-conditioned place (workplace) for five hours easily. But if I’m constantly under the unforgiving sunshine, it stays for around three hours. It’s still there but has faded.

The only thing I wish they had done was saved costs on the box packaging which could have resulted in a lower price. The quality is no doubt good but every new/old brand has skyrocketed their prices. I do feel this could have given them an edge.
