Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish Review

Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish review

Now that it has been 2 months since I started using this face polish, I think it’s time to review it.

Product description:

Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish contains an abundance of black sugar which aids in the removal of dead skin cells and blackheads. It exfoliates dry skin with ease and adds a glossy smooth look to the skin. When seasons change, the skin tends to become a uneven with dry patches that cause makeup to apply unevenly and look “cakey”. Using the Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish once a week gives you smooth soft skin perfect for makeup application. See even better results by using the Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish with the Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil Klairs keeps your skin soft and supple by providing effective exfoliation with deep moisturizing. Its anti-bacterial and anti-aging properties help treat dry, flaky skin

My experience with Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish:

Klairs gentle black sugar facial polish comes in a jar packaging with a twist-off cap. It is housed in a cardboard packaging which carries information like product description, how to use, ingredients list, expiry date and some more in a language unknown to me. The jar has a plastic wrap too to prevent the product from leaking. Me likey! The facial polish is parabens, alcohol, artificial colouring and is also cruelty-free! Yay! There’s also a tiny plastic spoon provided for hygienic purpose which I have lost.

The product is brown in colour and has a thick grainy texture which is also slightly sticky. I take a scoop of it, mix it with Innisfree cleansing oil and massage it gently for a minute so that all the sugar melts. I concentrate more on my cheeks and forehead (gently) as that’s where I’m more prone to getting dryness. Then, I rinse it off. If you plan on using it minus the cleansing oil, use it on slightly damp face so that it doesn’t feel harsh.

The moment I took it off the first time, I was amazed to see how smooth not just my skin felt but also looked. My skin had a slightly glossy, smooth look to it. The polish had successfully removed the minor dry flakes I had on my cheeks and when I started with my makeup application, it went on smooth. I have used it for almost 2 months now and it never caused irritation or breakouts. There’s always a slight redness left on my cheeks but it goes away after some time. Once, I didn’t use it for a week. When I did, I saw a visible brightening effect.

If I know I’m wearing a lot of makeup on a particular day, I make sure to use this ahead. Sadly, it does nothing for blackheads.

I use this once-twice a week.
