Innisfree Long Wear Cushion SPF 50+ PA+++ Review India

Innisfree long wear cushion SPF 50+ PA+++ review

This is my first cushion foundation and what tempted me to purchase it was the adorable holiday cushion case. I could cry again! But I won’t!

*Clears her throat*

I think when you purchase a new product TYPE, your first experience plays an important role in deciding whether or not you will be experimenting more with that type in future. In my case, I’m glad that I decided to start with this brand because my experience has been positive and inspiring.

Yes. Inspiring to buy more cushion based foundations now that I have realized how easy they’re to carry as well as use.

Product description:

Long wear makeup cushion strong against sweat and sebum containing natural jeju mineral powder. Powerful UV protection with SPF 50+ and PA+++ protects the skin from the Sun

My experience with Innisfree long wear cushion SPF 50+:

To start with, the refill and the cushion case are sold separately. The cushion case costs Rs.600 and the refill costs Rs.900. I wish it was the other way round because then it would have been quite economical 😛

The foundation only has 15ml of quantity and at a price of Rs.900, it’s expensive. If that was the only foundation I had, I would need a refill almost every month. So, do keep that in consideration.

Moving ahead..

You can also buy the applicator which costs Rs.150. It was sold to me without my permission 😐 I found out at home. I have never used it because I find it too stiff to tap. I either use my bare fingers or a beauty blender. It all comes down to your preference. You can choose from more than 10 designs in cushion case which is brilliant. Also, a bit stressful! So many designs to choose from..decisions!

I like how there’s a different compartment for keeping the cushion as this way it’s more hygienic. Also, the plastic lid prevents the cushion from drying out. The cushion case always shuts down with a click and feels light-weight. It also has a good-quality mirror attached inside. Since it’s so easy to hold, you can use it to get ready in your car, inside your camp, for touch-ups, etc. A perfect travel-friendly option!

How it works? As soon as you put some pressure on the cushion, the liquid foundation comes out of it. Awesome, right? I use my fingers to press it, apply it in dots on my face and then, tap it to blend using my fingers/beauty blender.

It leaves a matte finish on my face. The foundation covers minor imperfections such as redness, blemishes and uneven skin tone effortlessly. If you want to build the coverage, you will find that adding layers doesn’t leave a cakey effect. I can get about 4-5 hours of wear with this foundation before it starts fading. But even after 8 hours, the coverage is very much there. Definitely ones of the best foundations for oily acne prone skin in India. It never caused breakouts on my skin.

I have the shade N27 which matches my NC30 skin tone. It’s a bit light for the first few minutes but adjusts well in some time.

One thing I do want to mention is that Innisfree long wear cushion SPF 50+ is best suited only for oily skinned beauties. When I first tried it, I was having combination skin. It emphasized my dry patches by bunching up around the edges and called attention to the other dry areas on my face. The result was the same even with hydrating products beneath.

I really like the foundation but somehow the price-value aspect just doesn’t sit well with me.

Summary:

If you have an oily skin type and are looking for a foundation that’s super easy to apply on the go, offers a presentable coverage and can withstand heat to a good extent, try Innisfree long wear cushion SPF 50+.

But the maintenance costs are pretty high. The foundation contains only 15ml of product and if you use it every day, you will need a monthly replacement.
