My most used makeup products of 2017

I’m pretty sure that I’ll be re-purchasing these products once they have run out. Here are my most used makeup products of 2017:

Estee Lauder double wear stay-in-place foundation

I can get both light and heavy coverage from it that lasts for long. The best part is it doesn’t emphasize any flaky spots I’ve on my cheeks if I prep my skin well. My only gripe is that it comes without a pump. Not exactly thoughtful considering the price.

My shade is 2W2 Rattan.

Price: Rs.3,500 for 30ml

Marks & Spencer Autograph never ending lashes lengthening mascara ‘Brown’

It’s been a long time since I used a black liner to completely define my eyes or a black mascara. I find the colour too harsh now. Previously, I was using a brown mascara from Ciaté London. But it wasn’t good enough to repurchase. I came across this one on Amazon and ended up liking it a lot. It hardly adds volume but does an amazing job at lengthening. If I want to wear it at night, I combine the powder mascara trick with this one and I’m sorted.

Please note that any M&S makeup product you purchase from Amazon here will expire in beginning 2019. I bought 3 and all of them have nearly the same expiry date. It’s not a problem with mascara but I do have one foundation to finish coming summer.

Price: Rs.999. I got it at a discounted price of Rs.700 twice.

Sugar arch arrival brow definer ’02, Taupe Tom’

The best affordable eyebrow pencil in India!

The color is just perfect for my brows. It’s soft enough to get the right amount of colour pay-off but not so soft it crumbles. Sugar really has become one of my favourite brands.

Price: Rs.499

Maybelline lasting drama waterproof gel pencil ‘604, Glazed toffee’

A favourite of mine all year round, I admit. Most of the days, I wore it smoked out and followed up with Marks & Spencer Autograph never ending lashes lengthening mascara in ‘Brown’. Sometimes, I would draw a very thin black line just to give that fuller lash effect.

Price: Rs.499

Maybelline FIT ME concealer

I’m not much of a concealer girl now as I rely mainly on my foundation/BB  to do all the job. But sometimes I get in a rut to use just a concealer for under-eye and powder my face. This one I could get away with, without even using any cream beneath my eyes. It blends easily and quickly. The shade is ideal for my skin tone however I prefer a shade darker than my skin tone in concealers.

Price: Rs.525

Essence silky touch blush ’40,Natural beauty’

I did not see this coming!

Since I wore only nude/brown lip colors for the last 6-7 months of 2017, this was my go-to blush for any lip shade I used in that color family. I lub the shade!

It goes well with any lip shade actually and prevents my face from looking flat after I’ve applied foundation in the most natural way.

Price: Rs.299

Skindinavia bridal makeup finishing spray

I tried it in summer and didn’t like it for the glow it gave to my face which would light up like a bulb anyway after 2 hours (super oily skin).

But in winters, it was a different story. It would cut down on the powderiness beautifully and add a lovely glow to my dehydrated skin type.

Price: 29USD

Original beauty blender pro

I already have a backup of this in my drawer.

I must have tried 10 different sponges to get a close replica of it but the texture and density of the original sponge makes it irreplaceable. On my bad skin days, this is my bestie as it helps me sport a cake-free finish with my base products. On good skin days, the finish is flawless.

Not seen in the pictures here as I forgot to include it. Click on the title name to read its detailed review.

Price: Rs.1,900 including shipping from camerareadycosmetics site.

BH cosmetics foil eyes 18 color eyeshadow palette

I love the quality of the eyeshadows in this palette. They blend out beautifully and have a good pigmentation. I increase the color intensity by using a setting spray as a last coat. Basically a fantastic value for the money. I use the bright ones as eyeliner mixed with Inglot duraline.

Price: 12.50 USD (On sale many times)

Oriflame oil blotting sheets

Doing makeup doesn’t make sense in the humid weather if I don’t have these oil blotting sheets by my side for touch-ups. I have 10 backups of these. Nope, not kidding.

Price: Rs.199 but most of the times on discount.

This year, you will be seeing me talk a lot about haircare and hair styling products. Keratin was the worst thing that happened to my hair ever. It didn’t last, wrecked my hair and my hair are still in the recovering mode.

What do you think of the products here? What were your most loved makeup favourites of 2017? Do you think I should get a frame which says ‘Procrastination queen’? Nah! I’m trying to improve.
