L’Oreal Paris Infallible Gel Crayon Eye Liners: Review, Swatches

L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners review, swatches India

Today, I’ll be reviewing a new range- L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners in three shades! The new pencil liners from L’oreal Paris come in a plethora of shades ranging from browns/blacks to bright colors and everything in between.

Let’s get started with the review!

Product description:

Discover Infallible Gel Crayon, our 1st waterproof gel liner in a crayon for bold colour impact. Now you can achieve intense colour and 24 hour wear, with the easy application of a pencil and smooth glide of a gel crayon with L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners.

My experience with L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners:

Packaging: L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners come in a black colored body and have color-coded caps so that it’s easy to distinguish the shades without opening in case you have more than one of these. Since they are in a sharpenable form, product wastage is bound to happen. Though not as much as like the silkissime liners as they don’t melt (not literally) on contact with the skin.

Texture: They go on like a dream without tugging. You get 10 seconds to create easy smokey eyes using them before they start setting. I say this for all three shades I own.

Pigmentation: Two swipes are sufficient to get a good coverage out of these. The shade “Back to Black” contains very tiny shimmers and isn’t jet black though.

Staying power:  I have super oily eyelids and always apply powder before using any eyeliner. I do the same with these ones.

Sadly, these eyeliners aren’t a winner when it comes to long staying power. The shade “101, Back to Black” although minimally but does have a tendency to transfer to the crease of my eyelid. Both black and brown shades smudge from my inner as well as outer corner of my eyes just after 3 hours of wear. I can even see the intensity fading just after 5 hours.

It’s only the Khaki shade which wears for long beautifully and with minimal smudging and fading even after 9 hours.

How do I find them different from L’oreal silkissme and Maybelline waterproof eyeliner pencils?

The difference in staying power is a lot. Personally, I find the L’oreal silkissme and Maybelline gel eyeliners to be much more long staying.

Another difference I find is that since the texture of these eyeliners is just a tad thinner and stiffer, there’s less product wastage while sharpening.

What product do I use to sharpen them?

They get easily sharpened. I use the free sharpeners I received with Lakme enrich lip crayons. Bless those lip colors! They sorted my yearly supply of sharpeners.

Summary:

I had high hopes from L’oreal Paris infallible gel crayon eye liners as the brand hardly fails me. But I would suggest you to skip these ones because of the average staying power. However, the shade ‘106, Rest in Khaki’ is worth checking out as it has a beautiful texture coupled with a very good staying power.
