Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color ‘Dewy Spring’ Review

Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color Dewy Spring: Review, Swatches

A few days back, I was rewatching ‘Confessions of a shopaholic’. Then, came that scene where Rebecca’s mom offers Mrs. Alette Naylor a cake.

It’s only after she cut the tiniest silver of cake for her that she accepts it. In case you’re interested in seeing it, you can watch on Youtube HERE.

After watching that scene, it occurred to me maybe that’s how Lakme decided to incorporate “Argan oil” in their newest launch i.e. Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color. Even in Lakme absolute argan oil serum foundation as I couldn’t find a trace of Argan oil in it. Keep reading to know why I feel so. *Shudders*

What Lakme says about ‘Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color’:

These Lipsticks nourish your lips while delivering intense color. The best of both worlds is now a reality with its nourishing power as well as rich pigments. It has beautiful creamy texture that gives your lips a smooth and silky finish. Available in 15 vibrant shades that compliment all Indian skin tones. Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color care is where the power of argan oil comes to life.

My experience with Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color Dewy Spring:

Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color comes in a sleek packaging with a gold finish body. The cap shuts down properly after each use. You won’t be fishing around your purse searching for a missing cap. Because how horrifying it would be to find a lipstick lying in a state of shock in your purse because it stained the other items since the cap refused to hug it tightly. Okay, you don’t have to answer that!

Since the lipstick is formulated with Argan oil, I was expecting it to glide smoothly on my lips without any dragging and keeping them nourished at the same time.

Expectation is the root cause of all heartache. – William Shakespeare

Well, I was wrong! I had to drag it subtly to color my lips and as I was doing that, I also noticed that it was applying a little unevenly. A bubble formed over my head saying “Outrageous! I paid Rs.800!”  Another bubble over my head said “Calm down, Heena! Maybe your lips are quite dry right now.” Well then, I was reminding myself that I haven’t even felt the need of using a lip balm since the last 3 days and even if they are dry, isn’t the miracle ingredient supposed to show its magic?

Not just that, the texture was thick and I has an uncomfortable feeling on my lips- it felt heavy. Like I knew there was something sitting on my lips. The color did last nicely through multiple rounds of drinking and eating but it looked patchy.

I decided to wear it again after 2 days and my feelings for it were the same.

Lakme Absolute luxe matte lip color Dewy Spring shade

Even though the Lakme enrich lip crayons have a bit waxy texture, I find those better than these.

Currently, using it as a blush along with L’oreal infallible sexy balm ‘Cant sit with us’.
