YBP makeup perfector sponge review: Worth the hype?

YBP makeup perfector sponge review, price

Some things in life are just not worth the effort:

Trying to fit in

Socializing just for the sake of it

Having lunch with a person who doesn’t order french fries and then, eats them off your plate

Searching for a dupe of the original beauty blender

Product description of YBP makeup perfector sponge:

When you want to get Flawless makeup that looks like something out of a Fairy tale, the secret lies in the Application. Makeup Perfector not only gives a perfect touch to your makeup, it is your makeup companion from Start to Finish. What is Makeup Perfector, and what makes it different? The YBP Makeup Perfector consists of two things: Sponge, and a unique Container. When you use your Makeup Perfector Sponge, or “MPS”, you can achieve a very Natural and Flawless coverage quickly and easily, and it will not look Heavy or Cakey. The Container Makeup Perfector Sponge is a New-age Makeup Sponge that Electrifies your love for Cosmetics – High-Quality Material, Latex-free, Hypoallergenic, Soft, Great for Sensitive Skin. MPS gives you an impeccable, High-Definition finish with Minimum product waste.

How To Use

Wet Your MPS. The Sponge increases in size when Wet and becomes extremely Soft and Bouncy, the Perfect amount of softness and bounce to get great HD performance easily. The shape is Multi-functional – Tip is great for smaller harder to reach places around the Nose and Eye areas. Bottom is good for Cheeks, Forehead, and Neck. Each piece is unique.

My experience with YBP makeup perfector sponge:

The YBP makeup perfector sponge comes in a semi-transparent plastic container with a metal lid on top of it. The container has a few holes which serve a good purpose. It’s a bad practice to store a wet beauty blender sponge in a closed container as it can develop fungus. So, if you’re in a hurry and want to take your wet blender sponge with you, you can take this container without having to worry about spoiling it.

As for the lid, it can be used as a mixing medium for your makeup. Example: Mixing two different foundations or combining eyeshadow with a duraline. It’s easy to clean it.

This is the biggest beauty blender I own size-wise. Upon coming in contact with water, it becomes even bigger. I’m not kidding when I say my fingers literally pain when working with it. Fitting it in my hands is a tough task because of its big size.

As for the softness and flexibility part, it feels almost like the PAC beauty blender sponge. The texture is definitely a little more than softer than the PAC beauty blender sponge but upon coming in contact with water, both sponges feel the same on my skin. Even when it comes to performing, the difference is again almost the same. I’m saying almost because as compared to the PAC one, it eats lesser product thereby resulting in a better coverage.

Does it lessen the look of dry patches? Nope. Does it help with minimizing the pore size? Very less.

I’m much better with using my fingers than using this YBP sponge. For me, it’s not worth the hype at all. In fact, if you’re after a cheap beauty blender alternative in India, you might as well try the PAC one.

Tomorrow, I’ll be reviewing the original beauty blender.

Summary:

The YBP makeup perfector sponge isn’t bad in general but for the price it comes at, I was expecting a lot. I didn’t buy it with the intention of replacing my original beauty blender. But I was hoping it to be somewhat like the original one as it costs half the price. Not to forget, it’s a pain working with such a big-sized blender and fitting it in my hand.
