The Brush Set Which Forced Me To Buy It!

After having a good experience with the affordable double-ended eye shadow brush I found on Amazon, it was time to take things ahead. I came across this Amazon India Generic makeup brushes 5 pcs set but was super confused between two sets. The first set had brushes which I saw myself using all if turned out good. The second one didn’t seem to be very useful but had one brush in it which had captivated my heart. It was so, so, so cuteeeee!!

I tried singing ‘Let it go, Let it goooooooo’ in my head many times but I really couldn’t bring myself to dance to that song. The result of which being I purchased it even after knowing I won’t get much use out of it.

So, let me introduce you to the brush set which made me go weak at the knees (actually just one brush in it!):

*Tan tanaaaaaaaaaaaa*

*Drumrollz*

See that cute toothbrush looking like makeup brush?

See how the combination is black and white?

See why it melted my heart?

The moment I received this brush set, I took that one out immediately. I stood in front of the mirror, held it and pretended brushing my teeth. Obviously, I had a little bit of Karaoke session too. I realize that now I’ll begin typing the stories on how I fooled some into thinking that this is an actual tooth brush and it’s a new technology. But I’ll stop here! Okay!

So, here are my thoughts on this brush set:

Oval brush: It’s small in size and therefore, takes more time to blend the foundation. The fibres are soft, dense and almost uniform. The reason why density in a foundation brush matters is because there’s less product wastage then. It did blend the foundation nicely. However, it left some streaks behind. So, I had to go over with a beauty blender.

Blender sponge: Add a little bit of a spongy texture to a rock and that’s how this is. A complete miss!

Flat contour brush: The bristles of this flat contour brush don’t feel very soft on my skin and also, the size is quite big for my face size. A good thing about it is that it doesn’t pick up a lot of product on the go.

Powder/blush powder: I haven’t used it to buff my foundation as the circular action will create a havoc on my dehydrated skin. I use it to blend my liquid blushes instead and it works beautifully! Helps me get that diffused look *_*

Brush cleaning board: I find it ideal to wash the small-sized brushes but not the big ones. See the little dots on it? Use that space to remove any extra product that still might be clinging to your makeup brush.

Things to note:

– Always wash your new brushes before putting them on your face. These one had an artificial smell when I opened them. It went after washing them.

– The flat contour brush sheds a lot of bristles.

Summary:

When I bought this brush set, it was for Rs.790. Now, the price has shot to Rs.1000. Even at Rs.790, this brush set is not worth it. You can find far better options than this one.

Do I think before going to sleep how my bank statement would have been different had I not purchased this brush set? Yes! Do I have any regret? Nope!
