Do Not Buy This Eyeshadow Palette!

You know how there are some disappointing beauty buys you can still make use out of in some way, not in the way you intended to but it can still be helpful.

And, then how there are some beauty products which you are holding in your hands, staring at the wall and wondering “What exactly do I do with this?” One of those deep questions that gets your creative juices flowing! The reason being that particular product is a total fail.

That’s how I feel about this CAL Los Angeles eyeshadow palette. It is beyond disappointing! The beautiful color selection enticed me. That, and me having a good experience with its lipsticks. Have you tried CAL Los Angeles Intense Matte lipsticks? They’re awesome!

Let me start with the metallic silver shade which has introduced me to an eyeshadow texture I have never met before. If you’ve ever made chapatis, you will know how a dough feels like. Now, think of an over-kneaded dough and that’s exactly how the texture of this particular eyeshadow feels like. See the picture below for reference. I pressed my thumb on it and it has left an impression and not broken it! Nope, it’s not a cream eyeshadow and can’t be even used as one -_-

As for the other three ones, they are very powdery, hard to blend and feel stiff. Since this palette serves no purpose, I haven’t even included the swatches. There was no use testing them as that would have meant spending an eternity swiping and blending.

I’m going to depot the eyeshadows from the palette and replace them with the refill lipsticks/eyeshadows I have. That’s how I use the old palettes too. Did you recently come across a beauty product that you regret buying? Or an overhyped product that didn’t work for you? Do share ^_^
