My experience with Colorbar Kiss proof lip stain:
So when I bought this lip stain, what I had in my mind was a lip color that would leave a strong stain on my lips and not leave them colourless even after a heavy meal. Because that’s what the name and description says. However this product is not a lip stain, but rather a lip creme in a proper matte finish.

Starting with packaging, the product comes in silver see-through tube which shows the shade. The tube as well as the silver carton in which it comes in mentions the shade name. The petal shaped applicator makes application easy and even.
The lip color has a creamy texture which translates to a full matte finish on lips in a minute or so. The formula is very light-weight and I hardly feel that I have something on my lips. It packs more than a generous dose of pigmentation in a single swipe only. For applying two coats, I first let the first layer dry completely before going on with the second coat. This is to ensure that there’s no patchiness and to prolong the wear time a little bit more.

Coming to the staying power, it stays for 5 hours plus beautifully with drinks and snacks in between. There’s no uncomfortable feeling or problem while smiling. I didn’t saw it transferring to cups which is a major plus. However the problem begins when I have oil based food. It disintegrates badly from the middle, leaving lips colorless there. I can actually feel the powdery bits. And that looks real odd! The only way to do a touch up is by removing it completely and then re-applying it. This wouldn’t have been much of a problem if it stained lips but it doesn’t. This is the only reason why I reach out for it so less. Because the re-application part is quite high-maintenance.

There are two things I do without fail when I put this lip color on:
– Exfoliate my lips
– Stain my lips with a similar lipstick shade so that when it starts to wear off, there’s no band formation on  my lips.

If this lip stain actually stained, I would have been reaching out more often for it. Because that would have made the uneven fading part look better. That said, I still like it a lot!
