As time goes by, your main lipstick stand has a way of rearranging itself. New lipsticks enter your life, and inevitably, they leave your main lipstick stand as well. They go back in other lipstick stands, at the back. Lipsticks have a tendency to happen that can turn your world upside down okay! Turn your world colourful and happy. You’ll come to realize eventually, that even though you may think that you have found the perfect matte finish lipstick, you will find an unfolding surprise.
*Enter NYX Matte Lipstick “Shocking Pink”*
It actually shocks me that being a NYX products and matte finish lover, how come I never tried these matte finish lipsticks. *Throws herself a puzzled look*
NYX Matte lipsticks comes packed in a matte finish encasing with a transparent see through band in between, to identify the lipsticks shade without having to open it. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick.
The formula is very smooth and non-drying. It glides onto lips softly without any tug or pull. It is not a hard matte lipstick which is why even after having applied it for more than 3 hours; I was still able to smile easily. It is because these have a pinch of moisture with them, so they are comfortable to wear. The pigmentation is incredible in one swipe only. It will cover pigmented lips fully. The staying power is remarkable! It stays on for more than 6+ hours almost fully, with light snacks and drinks in between. Even after it fades, it leaves a strong tint behind. So, your lips are not left colorless. After all these long hours, neither did the finish get uneven nor did the wear point got uneasy. It does not bleed either. I thought that this might turn to be a high maintenance lipstick, but ah! It proved me wrong.
The shade “Shocking Pink” is a beautiful bright purple pink. It leans more towards purple. The matte finish makes it very easy to wear. It brightens up my face so nicely.
Compared to Lakme 9to5 Matte lipsticks, these are definitely creamier and much longer staying.
I’ll definitely be buying more shades next time when I place my order for NYX products or visit Sephora before it.
