Colorbar Creme Touch Lipstick Pink Carnation Review and Swatches

I just saw today that I have 60+ review folders in my lappy and before I put in any other beauty product folder, I just hope that I’m able to post at least half of the reviews pending in my lappy.

Yup! Let me just wish! *_*

So, now coming to this lipstick, I also posted it in my Jewellery and makeup haul HERE.

Product Description:
Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick comes with the promise of lips that are eloquent and luscious. It comes with lovely rich colours and rich in moisturizing properties making lips look fuller and creamier all day long. It has sheabutter, Vitamin E and sunscreen agents at SPF 15 level which nourish and protect your lips against UV rays. It glides on effortlessly for flawless, even coverage for that perfect pout.

My experience with it:
Colorbar Creme Touch Lipstick “Pink Carnation” comes in a silver metallic packaging with a purple band in the middle. The cap shuts tightly after every use. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick. The shade is a nice light peachy pink with cool undertones. It looks different on lips and different on my hand. I did suggest this shade only for the fair complexions and that too if you are fond of cool toned lipsticks. On my complexion, this works in both ways; with simply lined eyes and even with a medium heavy eye makeup.

The texture of the lipstick is really creamy but also a little gunky. It goes on smooth at first application but if I layer it for more than 2 times, it gets patchy. Also, if you tend to have dry and flaky lips, it’s going to emphasize them clearly. It does clings to the dry bits on your lips, so make sure to apply it before a lip balm. The pigmentation of this lipstick is a little more than medium coverage. My sister has pigmented lips and although it doesn’t give full coverage, it coats them nicely.

It has a creamy finish with a little sheen.  Regarding the staying power, it stays for some 2.5-3 hours without any eating. With snacks and drinks in between, it vanishes leaving a ring on the lips. Plus, it settles into lip lines badly. Argh! Unimpressive!

In short,
The packaging is simple, nice and sturdy.
            It has SPF 15
Being a light and cool toned shade, it should only suit pale-fair skin tones
The texture is just average. It gets patchy with layering.
            The pigmentation is medium coverage.
It stays for around some 3 hours but with major fading.
It settles into lip lines a lot.
It clings to the flaky bits on lips.
I have 2 more shades from this range and unlike the quality of this, those are way much better!

Price: Rs.475 (I brought it for Rs.450 a month ago!)
Quantity: 4.5gm
VCB Rating: 2/5
Now, that said, I’m still quite wearing it these days. It’s the shade. Plus, you know there are some lipsticks which look better off camera, much better without a close-up.
