My 500th Post and What Beauty Blogging Has Taught Me!

*Drumrollz* *Cheers* *Band Baaja Pasta*
Yay! This is my 500th post! What better occasion to share about the things which beauty blogging has taught me!
*Goes back to her posts page and checks if the post number is really 500,na?! Yes, it is! Phew!*
You know, I think my blog has got a little professional losing its personal touch from a month now, which is so not me! And so, I thought of doing this fun filled post today! I wanted to discuss something really serious today.
The four important things Beauty Blogging has taught me:
1)        Patience
True! So True! Beauty blogging has actually instilled in me the virtue of patience. I return shopping to my home on a late evening and I have this urge of trying away the cosmetics right away! But I can’t because I first have to click the pictures of the untouched makeup products in daylight tomorrow and then, start using them. So, how do I act while waiting? Well, I first place my newly brought cosmetics beautifully on my bedside table, then, I cook eat yummy food (while staring at them), watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S (while staring at them), paint my nails (after removing my current nail polish, while staring at them), un-necessarily think about the little bad things that happened in the last few days (you know, timepass! While still staring at them) and then, when the going gets really tough and I start to lose my patience at midnight, I shoot two glasses of tequilas ( the tequilas here refers to me dancing like crazy on my bed to Dhoom3 title song and retiring myself to sleep, with last glance on my cosmetics under the lamp light). And, make double of all these things if there’ no sunlight tomorrow!
2)        Readers help us shop!
Yes! You read it right! When I was at the Maybelline counter recently swatching the New Maybelline crayon kohls, this was what I was saying to myself> “Oh! So bad! It took 4 swipes for the full color on my hand to show. It would be even a harder task to apply on eyes. But just see the colour! It’s so gorgeous! It will go beautifully with my black eyes! But even the texture is not so smooth! Oh! But the stunning shade! Buy it, Heena! You know, it would be more expensive if you go finding a similar shade in MAC! Not like I was going to! But.. Oh! My readers! My little audience! It would be waiting for the reviews of these and I can’t disappoint them! I have my exams coming and it could be a bad omen if they curse me! Plus it’s my duty as a beauty blogger (holds true only if I want to buy a product real bad!). And, yeah! I bring the beauty home! See? Readers help us to buy products and shop, even if that’s indirectly! 😉 So, a big thanks to them.

      Art of ‘Adjustment’
I am not talking about the adjustment happiness you feel by seeing heaps of makeup items because that I experienced in my six month of blogging only, which also reminds me that there’s a bag lying on the top shelf with all the blog sale items. I’m taking about the adjustment you make in the makeup storage compartments. Firstly, lip products were neatly arranged in my 1st drawer. Then, I started to arrange them colorwise in different containers. Now, I have two big containers; one for lipsticks and another for lipglosses, each piled on one another. But hey! I’m still organized. Maybe, I will show you some pictures of my cupboard soon. I still know where to look for if I need any particular product. I wonder where my Inglot peach lipstick has vanished O_o
4)        Getting Bold
The last lesson which beauty blogging has taught me is to get bold! The balcony in which I take blog pictures is right opposite to the park. That balcony is the blessed with at least some natural light. Even in summers, the sunlight reaches the balcony only after 4 PM and that too for 30 minutes! Photo editing softwares are a big boon. So, now how has blogging made me besharam bold? Before, I literally looked left, right and straight before starting to take lip/eye swatches. And, even then someone had to pass from the park at that time and their faces (in case of guys, stares) are worth forgetting. But now, I just don’t care! Just two days back, when I was taking lip/eye swatches, an aunty passing by started to stare. I just showed her my middle finger. Relax! I was just showing my new ring, you saw it HERE. Because I knew her.  You don’t think I would start showing off my jewellery to any stranger? Unless someone comes to my home in which case, I will display the bags neatly on dining table and the curious souls ask me what’s in those bags? 🙂

So, what are the important things beauty blogging has taught you? I’ll love to know 🙂
