“Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently.”
And, the same goes with makeup application here. The tools are same, just that the techniques differ from face to face. Everyone has different face shape and it’s important to apply makeup in such a way which transforms the features beautifully and corrects the flaws.
I have already done an article on “How To Do Makeup For Round Face. Today, I shall be discussing as to how to do makeup for long face shape.
A long face shape has an lengthened appearance with the cheekbones, jawline and the forehead being equally wide. The purpose here is to give the illusion of a shorter face.
1) Eyebrows
– The eyebrows should be in a horizontal direction and not in a high arch position. Eyebrows with high arch position would only make the long face look longer.
2) Blush Application
– Applying blush on a long face should result in creating an illusion of a width on the face. This is achieved by applying the blush on the apples of the cheeks and extending it towards the midpoint of the ears, and not extending it towards the temples. So, to balance the length of the face, the blush here is applied in a horizontal direction.
3) Contour
– Contouring the forehead is a key part here, to hide the wide prominence of the forehead. It’s recommended to contour the temples and hairline here.
One thing more, since long face shape already have quite a strong appearance in their face, sheer colours are preferred more.
